Your ideas deserve care. So does your information. This policy explains what The Archives collects through this website, why we use it, and the choices available to you.
At a glance: we use your inquiry to respond to you, essential technology to run the site, and optional Google Analytics to understand visits. Analytics stays off until you accept it. You can change that choice in Cookie settings.
Privacy requests: [email protected].
1. Who is responsible
The Archives is a brand strategy, design, content and digital marketing studio based in Pune, Maharashtra, India. We operate thearchives.online and are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean The Archives.
Contact: [email protected]. Location: Viman Nagar, Sector 4, Pune, Maharashtra, India. This policy covers website visitors, people who contact us and authorised website users. Information handled for a client project may also be covered by a separate agreement or client notice.
2. Information we collect
- Project inquiries and correspondence: your name, email address, company or brand if supplied, service of interest, message, submission date, and information you provide in follow-up conversations.
- Technical and security information: requests to the site may be processed by our hosting provider with an IP address, browser and device information, requested URL, time and diagnostic or security information needed to deliver and protect the service.
- Optional analytics: if you accept, Google Analytics 4 processes cookie identifiers, pages and events, visit times, referral information, approximate location, and browser or device information. Information in a page URL or referrer may also be included.
- Authorised accounts: staff and other authorised users may have a name, email, password credential, role and session records, including an IP address and browser information. These support access to the administration area.
- Your privacy choices: your analytics choice and the time you made it are stored in your browser, as explained in our Cookie Policy.
You choose whether to send an inquiry. The fields marked as required are needed to handle that form; company information is optional. Please do not send passwords, payment card information, government identity documents or sensitive personal information through the inquiry form. If you supply someone else’s details, make sure you have an appropriate reason and authority to share them.
3. Why we use information
- To read and respond to inquiries, discuss a possible project and prepare proposals.
- To manage client relationships and perform an agreement when a project proceeds.
- To deliver, maintain and secure the website, manage authorised access and investigate misuse.
- With your permission, to understand website use and improve content and navigation through Google Analytics.
- To meet legal obligations, maintain necessary business records and establish or defend legal claims.
Sending an inquiry does not subscribe you to a mailing list. We will request separate permission for promotional emails where required. We do not use inquiry submissions for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Where a law requires a legal basis, we rely on consent for optional analytics; steps you request before a contract or performance of a contract for project discussions and services; legitimate interests, where recognised and balanced against your rights, for running and securing our business; and legal obligations where applicable. In jurisdictions with different rules, we rely on the consent or other grounds permitted by the law in force. Agreeing to website terms is not consent to analytics.
4. Who may receive information
Access is limited to people and service providers who need information for the purposes above. These include our authorised team, Cloudflare for website hosting, database and media infrastructure, Google for analytics when enabled, and communication or professional service providers involved in responding to you or supporting our business. We may disclose information where required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a business restructuring subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell personal information or use this website’s Google tag for advertising personalisation or remarketing. Analytics identifiers still count as personal information under some laws. External social media and portfolio links lead to services with their own privacy practices.
5. Google Analytics and your choice
This site retains the Google tag for Google Analytics 4, measurement ID G-DCW7LG0SK3. The tag is blocked from loading until you accept analytics or return with a valid saved acceptance. Rejecting optional cookies does not restrict access to public pages or the inquiry form.
When enabled, Google receives analytics information and processes it under its applicable terms and privacy arrangements. We disable Google signals and advertising personalisation in the website tag. We do not deliberately send the contents of your inquiry form, your name or email address as analytics event parameters. Avoid putting personal information in page URLs.
See Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Our Cookie Policy describes identifiers, lifetimes and withdrawal. Withdrawal stops future analytics on this browser; it does not automatically erase information already collected.
6. How long we keep information
We retain inquiry and correspondence records for as long as needed to handle your request and any resulting relationship. Business, contract, accounting or dispute records may need to be kept longer for applicable legal requirements or claims. Authorised account and security records are retained for account administration, security and necessary legal purposes.
Retention depends on the type of record, whether a project proceeds, the purpose still being served, legal requirements and any active dispute. We delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed, subject to lawful exceptions and backup cycles. Contact us for information about a particular record or to request deletion.
Your browser preference is valid for 180 days. Analytics cookie lifetimes are listed in the Cookie Policy. Cookie expiry is separate from the retention of information already received by Google, which also depends on the Analytics property settings and Google’s applicable terms.
7. Security and international processing
We use access controls and the safeguards provided by our hosting and authentication services to help protect information. No website, transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
We are based in India, and providers such as Cloudflare and Google may process information in other countries. Those countries may have different data protection laws. Where a restricted international transfer occurs, we must use safeguards or another transfer mechanism required by applicable law, such as contractual safeguards where appropriate. Contact us for details relevant to your information.
8. Your rights and requests
Depending on your location and the law in force, you may have rights to access or obtain a copy of your information; correct it; request deletion; restrict or object to processing; request portability; withdraw consent; or raise a grievance. Some rights have exceptions, and withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Email [email protected] with your request and enough information to locate the relevant interaction. We may need to verify your identity proportionately. We will respond within applicable legal time limits and explain any lawful reason we cannot fulfil a request. You may complain to the competent data protection authority where that right is available, including your local authority in the EEA or the UK Information Commissioner, as applicable.
To withdraw analytics consent immediately on this device, use Cookie settings or the button in the footer. You can still contact us about information collected before withdrawal.
9. Children
This is a business services website intended for adults, not a service directed at children under 18. We do not seek to collect children’s personal information. If you believe a child has supplied personal information, please contact us so we can assess and remove it where appropriate.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the website, our services or applicable requirements. The date above identifies the current version. Where a change requires a new notice or fresh consent, we will provide it before relying on that change.
