September 11, 2010

Our blog is intended as a humorous look at baby boomers in the new millenium, our daily foibles, how technology affects us and so on. However, now and then it’s appropriate to stop for a few minutes and contemplate some serious subjects. Today is one of those times. It has been nine years since the tragedy of 9/11 and we encourage you to take a few moments to honor those who gave their lives on that fateful day.

Today is also a National Day of Service and Remembrance under a new federal law. Through the Tribute WTC Visitor Center and the September 11th Families Association you can participate in any number of worthy service organizations and make a contribution to helping others. Baby boomers have always been involved in causes and movements, and this is a good way to continue that effort to leave the world a little better place than we found it.

Below is a letter from the Tribute WTC Visitor Center with a link to more information on National Service Day. We hope you can find the time to check it out. We will return to our normal blog commentaries on this Tuesday. We thank you for following our blog stories, and we thank you for your time to participate in today’s 9/11 tributes.

Tribute WTC Visitor Center

September 2010  Newsletter

This Saturday marks the 9th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks. The September 11th Families’ Association and Tribute WTC Visitor Center would like to extend our deepest sympathy to all those who lost loved ones and were impacted by this national tragedy.

September 11th is officially recognized as a National Day of Service and Remembrance, under a federal law that was passed by the U.S. Congress and signed by President Obama in April, 2009. Hundreds of events are planned nationwide to honor our loved ones through serving others. Please visit www.911dayofservice.org for more information on ways to honor the memories of those who were lost.  We encourage you to particpate in or create community projects as a way to make a difference.

 Best Wishes,

The Tribute Family
